History
Formed in 1887 from Tom Green County and Reeves County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Loving County was created from Tom Green and Reeves in 1887, named after Oliver Loving. Initially unorganized and attached to Reeves County, it was fully organized in 1893 but that organization was found to be fraudulent and the county was disorganized in 1897. Loving County was fully organized again in 1931, detached from Reeves.
