History
Formed in 1858 from Nueces County and Webb County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
La Salle County was created on February 1, 1858, from parts of Nueces and Webb counties but was not fully organized at that time. For the next two decades, La Salle was alternately attached to neighboring counties—including Nueces, Live Oak, Webb, and McMullen—for judicial and administrative purposes. La Salle was finally fully organized and detached from McMullen County on November 30, 1880.
