History
Formed in 1856 from Bexar County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Kerr County was created from Bexar County on January 26, 1856, and fully organized by March of that year. The county has undergone several boundary changes: it lost territory to the creation of Blanco County in 1858, gained from Edwards and lost to Kendall in 1862, and lost to Real County in 1913.
