History
Founded in 1858
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Kimble County was created from Bexar Land District in 1858, but was not initially fully organized. In 1860, it was attached to Gillespie County for judicial purposes, and remained so until 1876 when Kimble County was fully organized and detached. In 1887, Sutton County was created from Crockett County and attached to Kimble County for judicial and surveying purposes until Sutton was fully organized and detached in 1890.
