An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
McLennan County was created on January 22, 1850, from parts of Limestone, Milam, and Navarro counties, though it was not fully organized until August 5, 1850. On February 4, 1854, McLennan County lost territory north of Bosque and Coryell counties to the creation of those new counties.
