History

Founded in 1825

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Muscogee was originally established as Section the Second and renamed Muscogee in 1826. Its boundaries changed numerous times through the nineteenth century, gaining and losing territory through the creation of neighboring counties and boundary adjustments.
