History

Formed in 1856 from Lowndes County, Thomas County, Baker County and Worth County

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Colquitt County lost land to Worth County on December 15, 1857, and again on December 14, 1859. Between 1859 and 1873, the county gained small areas from Thomas County and Mitchell County through individual adjustments.
