History

Founded in 1793

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

McIntosh County was created from Liberty County on December 19, 1793. Territory was exchanged with Liberty County multiple times: McIntosh gained land in 1794, and lost land in 1806 and 1871.
