History
Formed in 1870 from Campbell County and Carroll County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Douglas County was created from Campbell (extinct) and Carroll on November 8, 1870. The county's boundaries shifted several times in its early years: it lost territory to Carroll in 1871 and 1877, gained from Cobb and Paulding in 1874, and gained a small area from Carroll in 1874.
