History
Formed in 1832 from Cherokee County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Cobb County was created from Cherokee County on December 3, 1832. Over the following decades, the county exchanged small areas with neighboring counties including Paulding and Cherokee to adjust property lines and accommodate private individuals. Cobb lost land to the creation of Milton County in 1858 and to Fulton County by 1932.
