History

Formed in 1856 from Irwin County and Lowndes County

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Berrien County lost parts of its territory to the creation of three new counties: Tift in 1905, Cook in 1918, and Lanier in 1920.
