History

Formed in 1796 from Bryan County and Screven County

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Bulloch County was created from Bryan and Screven counties and named after Archibald Bulloch. The county gained territory from Montgomery County in 1810 but lost land when Emanuel, Jenkins, Candler, and Evans counties were created.
