History

Formed in 1850 from Lowndes County and Ware County

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Clinch County was created from Lowndes and Ware Counties in 1850. In 1854, it lost land to the creation of Coffee County, and further boundary adjustments with Coffee and Ware Counties occurred over the following decades.
