An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Taylor County was created from Green County in 1848. Between 1858 and 1888, Taylor County gained small areas from Green County multiple times to accommodate local property owners, including a temporary gain in 1869 that was repealed in 1870.
