History
Formed in 1795 from Harrison County, Mason County and Scott County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Campbell County was created on May 10, 1795, from Harrison, Mason, and Scott counties. Over the following decades, the county lost territory as new counties were formed from its land: Bracken in 1797, Pendleton in 1799, Boone in 1799, a small area to Grant in 1831, and Kenton in 1840.
