History

Formed in 1799 from Green County and Lincoln County

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Pulaski County was created in 1799 from Green County and Lincoln County, and named after Casimir Pulaski. The county lost territory to the creation of Wayne County in 1801, Rockcastle County in 1810, Whitley County in 1826, Russell County in 1840, and McCreary County in 1912, and exchanged territory with Wayne County in 1818 and 1831.
