History
Formed in 1842 from Lincoln County and Mercer County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Boyle County was created from Lincoln and Mercer counties in 1842. The county was named after John Boyle. Over the following decades, Boyle had small boundary adjustments with neighboring counties Casey and Garrard to accommodate local property owners.
