An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Marshall County was created from Calloway County on June 1, 1842. In 1867, the Kentucky Legislature authorized creation of Henrietta from Marshall and Trigg Counties, but the proposal failed in a local referendum.
