History

Formed in 1824 from Henry County, Jefferson County and Shelby County

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Oldham County was created in 1824 from Henry, Jefferson, and Shelby counties and was named after William Oldham. The county's boundaries shifted through the 19th century, losing territory to Shelby and Trimble counties and gaining small areas from Henry, Jefferson, and Shelby.
