History

Formed in 1799 from Bracken County and Campbell County

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Pendleton County was created on May 10, 1799, from parts of Bracken County and Campbell County. The county lost territory to the creation of Owen County in 1819 and Grant County in 1820, and lost a small area to Kenton County in 1866, but gained a small area from Bracken County in 1882.
