History
Founded in 1841
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Andrew County was created on January 29, 1841, from Non-County Area 31 (Territory of Neatawah). In 1843, Andrew County lost territory to the creation of Nodaway County and De Kalb County; Nodaway County was not fully organized at first and remained attached to Andrew County for civil and military purposes until its full organization on February 14, 1845.
