History
Formed in 1841 from Pulaski County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Wright County was created from Pulaski County on January 29, 1841. The county was named after Silas Wright. Over its early years, Wright County went through several boundary changes, losing territory to the creation of other counties including Texas (1843), Laclede (1849), and Greene (1855).
