History
Founded in 1873
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Greeley County was created from Non-County Area 6 in 1873 but was not fully organized at that time. The county was attached to neighboring counties for judicial purposes over several years: Ford in 1881, Finney in 1885, and Hamilton in 1886. Greeley County became fully organized and independent on July 9, 1888, when it was detached from Hamilton.
