History
Formed in 1874 from Kiowa County and Pawnee County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Edwards County was created from Kiowa County and part of former Pawnee County on March 18, 1874, though it was not fully organized until August 21, 1874. In March 1875, Edwards County gained part of Kiowa County, which was eliminated, but in February 1886, it lost territory to the re-creation of Kiowa County.
