History
Formed in 1847 from Appanoose County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Taylor County was created from Non-County Area 5 attached to Appanoose County on February 24, 1847, but was not fully organized at that time. Ringgold County was attached to Taylor for revenue, election, and judicial purposes in 1853, then fully organized and detached in 1855.
