History
Formed in 1851 from Pottawattamie County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Montgomery County was created from Pottawattamie County on January 15, 1851, but was not fully organized at that time. The county was attached to Adams County in March 1853 for election, revenue, and judicial purposes, then fully organized and detached from Adams later that year.
