History

Formed in 1807 from White County

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Warren County was created from White County on November 26, 1807. Over the following decades, the county's boundaries changed significantly through a series of boundary exchanges with neighboring counties, including losses to Franklin, Coffee, Cannon, Dekalb, Marion, Van Buren, and Grundy counties.

Boundary changes from the Newberry Library, Atlas of Historical County Boundaries; the 5 that matter most are shown first.
