History
Founded in 1819
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Perry County was created from Non-County Area 4 in 1819, though its western boundary was not clearly defined until 1821. Between 1820 and 1846, the county gained and lost land through various boundary adjustments with neighboring counties including Humphreys, Hardin, Wayne, and Decatur.
