History

Formed in 1870 from Blount County, Monroe County and Roane County

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

After its creation in 1870, Loudon County's boundaries shifted frequently over the next decade as local residents requested accommodations. Between 1870 and 1881, the county gained and lost territory multiple times in exchanges with Blount, Monroe, Roane, and McMinn counties.
