History
Formed in 1832 from Allen County and Elkhart County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
LaGrange County was created from parts of Allen and Elkhart counties on April 1, 1832, and named after Château de la Grange-Bléneau. The county's boundaries were adjusted multiple times in the 1830s as neighboring counties De Kalb, Steuben, and Noble were created and fully organized.
