History
Formed in 1808 from Clark County and Knox County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Harrison County became part of the state of Indiana on December 11, 1816, when Indiana was created from Indiana Territory and small parts of Illinois and Michigan Territories. Beginning in 1814, the county lost land to several newly created counties: Washington, Perry, Orange, Crawford, Floyd, and areas along the Ohio River.
