History

Formed in 1832 from Adams County, Cass County and Grant County

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Wabash County was created on February 2, 1832, from parts of Adams County and the New Purchase, with portions attached to Cass County and Grant County for administration until the county was fully organized. The county became fully organized in 1835 and was detached from Cass and Grant for all purposes. In 1838, Wabash County gained additional territory from Cass and Grant counties.
