History
Formed in 1817 from Gibson County, Knox County and Perry County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Pike County was created in 1817 from Gibson, Knox, and Perry Counties. The county underwent several boundary changes in its early years: it lost land to the creation of Dubois County in 1818, exchanged territory with Gibson County in 1824, lost more land to Gibson in 1825, and lost additional land to Warrick County in 1826.
