History
Formed in 1818 from Wayne County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Randolph County was created from Wayne County on August 10, 1818. From 1820 onward, the county gained and lost territory as new counties were organized from the Delaware New Purchase, which later became Adams County: Adams, Jay, and Wells counties were created from this territory and fully organized by 1837, after which they were detached from Randolph County.
