History
Formed in 1834 from Wabash County and Carroll County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
White County was named after Isaac White. At its creation in 1834, White County encompassed territory that was soon divided as neighboring counties were organized: Jasper, Newton, Pulaski, and Starke were created from White County's lands between 1835 and 1850.
