History
Formed in 1820 from Darke County, Shelby County and Wood County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Paulding County was created on April 1, 1820, from areas attached to Darke, Shelby, and Wood counties, though it was not fully organized and remained attached to Wood for administrative and judicial purposes. In 1824, Paulding was detached from Wood and attached to Williams for judicial purposes, then became fully organized and detached from Williams in 1839. In 1845, Paulding lost territory to the creation of Defiance County.

Roof outlines traced from aerial imagery from FEMA Response Geospatial Office with Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Good for seeing what is on a lot; not accurate enough to set a fence from.
