History
Formed in 1822 from Cuyahoga County, Huron County and Medina County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Lorain County was created from Cuyahoga, Huron, and Medina counties but was not fully organized at first, with parts attached to those counties for administrative and judicial purposes. It was fully organized on April 1, 1824, and detached from Cuyahoga, Huron, and Medina. The county was named after Lorraine.
