History
Formed in 1818 from Champaign County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Logan County was created from Champaign County on March 1, 1818. In 1820, Logan lost territory to the creation of Union, Allen, Crawford, Hancock, Hardin, Henry, Putnam, Sandusky, Seneca, and Wood counties, with Hardin remaining attached to Logan for administrative purposes until 1833. Between 1883 and 1888, Logan exchanged small areas with Shelby and Auglaize counties.
