History
Formed in 1835 from Lawrence County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Randolph County was created by Arkansas Territory from Lawrence County on October 29, 1835, and became a county in the state of Arkansas the following year. The county gained and lost territory multiple times through the 19th and 20th centuries, including gaining from Lawrence County in 1861 and 1885, losing to Greene County and the creation of Clayton County (later Clay) in 1873, and exchanging territory with Sharp County in 1891.
