History
Formed in 1845 from Bradley County and Clark County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Dallas County was created in 1845 from Bradley County and Clark County. It was named after George M. Dallas. The county's boundaries have changed several times: it lost territory to Saline County in 1846, to the creation of Calhoun County in 1850, and to Clark County in 1869, while gaining a small area from Jefferson County in 1873.
