Formed in 1835 from Pulaski County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Saline County was created by the Arkansas Territory from Pulaski County on November 2, 1835, and became a county of the state of Arkansas in June 1836. Over the following decades, Saline County's boundaries shifted through exchanges and gains from neighboring counties including Pulaski, Hot Spring, Dallas, Montgomery, and others, and by 1873 it had reached its established form.
