History
Formed in 1843 from Izard County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Fulton County was created from Izard County by an act passed on December 21, 1842, taking effect on January 1, 1843. In 1855, Fulton gained territory from Lawrence County but lost to Marion County. In 1873, Fulton lost territory to the creation of Baxter County and again to Izard County.
