History

Formed in 1832 from St. Clair County and Shelby County

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Randolph County lost territory to the creation of Cleburne County on December 6, 1866, and Clay County on December 7, 1866. In 1873, Randolph County lost a small area to Clay County, and in 1907 exchanged small areas with Cleburne County.
