History
Formed in 1819 from Conecuh County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Henry County was created from Conecuh County and named after Patrick Henry. The county lost territory to the creation of Covington and Pike in 1821, to Dale in 1825 and 1826, to Geneva in 1868, and to Houston in 1903, but gained a small area from Pike in 1831 and from Barbour in 1844.
