History
Formed in 1868 from Coffee County, Dale County and Henry County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Geneva County was formed from Coffee, Dale, and Henry counties in 1868, and a strip of territory along the state line was inadvertently omitted from its formal definition, a mistake corrected in February 1870. In 1871, Geneva lost a small area to Coffee, and in 1903, it lost territory to the creation of Houston County.
