History
Formed in 1879 from Kittson County, Polk County and Clay County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Marshall County was created from Kittson, Polk, and Clay counties and named after William Rainey Marshall. It was initially organized for county government and attached to Polk County for judicial purposes, then fully organized and detached from Polk on February 28, 1881. On July 9, 1883, Marshall County gained all of Non-County Area 13, which was then eliminated.
