History
Formed in 1857 from Ramsey County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Anoka County was created from Ramsey County on May 23, 1857, and fully organized. In 1860, Manomin and Isanti were attached to Anoka for judicial purposes, though Manomin was later transferred to Hennepin County in 1863. When Manomin was abolished by constitutional amendment in 1869, Anoka gained all of it. Isanti was fully organized and detached from Anoka in 1871.
