History
Formed in 1853 from Dakota County and Wabasha County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Goodhue County was created from Dakota and Wabasha counties in 1853, but initially remained attached to Wabasha for judicial purposes. The county was organized for judicial purposes in 1854 and then organized for county government later that year. Boundary adjustments with neighboring counties, particularly Wabasha and Dakota, continued through 1861.
