History

Formed in 1857 from Ramsey County

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Isanti County was created from Ramsey County on February 13, 1857, and organized for county government. The county was temporarily attached to St. Louis County in 1858 for judicial purposes, then transferred to Anoka County in 1860, before becoming fully organized and independent in 1871.
