History
Formed in 1815 from Marion County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Pike County was created by Mississippi Territory from Marion County on December 9, 1815. Between 1825 and 1884, the county gained and lost land in multiple boundary adjustments with Lawrence County. Pike lost territory to the creation of Lincoln County in 1870 and to the creation of Walthall County in 1914.
